A father has shot dead seven of his own children and an eighth unrelated child in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, in what authorities have characterised as a domestic disturbance. The victims, aged between one and 14 years old, were fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the incident starting around 05:00 local time.
